TIME TO DREAM

I have a dream- Martin Luther King Jr
A lot of people will argue and agree that everyone in this world has dreams. They will argue plausibly that everyone dreams of being rich, successful, married and sundry other things. I agree with them but there is an area in which I differ. What most people may consider as being dreams I deem to be wishes. Yes! Everyone wishes to be rich, famous, successful, educated, respected, holy etc, but very few people dream. My definition of someone with a dream is not someone with mere wishes, but someone with a profound desire to see that his wishes come to fruition. Wishes are short-lived but dreams abide and linger on. Wishes are numerous, dreams are relatively few. I may simply wish for a good car. If it comes fine, if it doesn’t fine and I don’t necessarily have to make a conscious effort to get it. But if I dream of a good car and it doesn’t come, I’ll be deeply hurt because of the conscious effort I made to achieve it. Wishes may not necessarily be feasible but real dreams are feasible. Most people that dream the way I defined it as achieve success or some level of success. This is due mainly to their profound desire to make their wishes to materialize which leads them to exhibiting utmost determination and diligence. A dream is something you conceive in your mind, something you have an avid interest in seeing it come to past. Realization of a dream boosts your self-esteem and self-actualization. Nigerians it is time to dream big and not to fantasize or wish. Let us dream dreams that we have a penchant for so that we will push for the realization of those dreams. Dreams give you a reason to live, a focus and a task to achieve. Remember if you don’t have a dream, you have nothing. Everyone should have his or her own dream so that you don’t fall for anyone’s dream or live another man’s dream. I dream to be a great person in Nigeria and to make my life sublime and I’m striving to achieve that.
