THESE NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS ARE USUALLY BROKEN
1. I’m gonna lose weight this year: I know tons of people especially females who at the beginning of each year would be like “errh! This year am gonna lose weight.” and when I see them at the end of the year, I’ll see them with more spare tyres ( y’all know what I mean). Well this is a new year resolution that’s constantly being broken most especially by females. You think it’s easy to resist all the free suyas, shawarmas, meat pies and all that delicious stuff that your guy is buying for you free of charge ( Is it really free?). Well it’s not. It’s not easy to be disciplined enough to resist delicious food, it’s not easy to exercise and hit the gym every day. It’s totally not easy to eat mostly vegetables and fruits all day. If you have made a resolution to lose weight this year, please discipline yourself properly.
2. I’m gonna stop smoking: Usually when I hear people make this resolution, I’ll be like talk is cheap; it’s a story for the gods. Smoking is a super addictive habit. I know of people that claim that food will not digest in their system except they smoke, some people can’t sleep except they smoke and a lot of other funny shit. Keeping this resolution is even more difficult than losing weight. You need super discipline for this one and you also need God (yes!), you might also need to stay away from some of your old friends amd make some changes to your lifestyle. If this is part of your resolution this year, am wishing you good luck.
3. I’m gonna quit drinking: The society nowadays encourages drinking. It’s like you can’t have fun without drinking or you can’t be your super self if you are not drunk. It’s when you are drunk that you seem to have a hell of a time. Most people don’t really make this resolution unless they have some alcohol related disease or are in their terminal years. Some people also make it because of their religious beliefs. This is another difficult resolution to keep but to me it’s easier to quit drinking than smoking. I wish you an alcohol free year if that’s part of your resolution.
4. I’m going to learn more: Well this is not a resolution that everyone makes except serious-minded people. People make resolutions to pay more attention to their studies, to learn more about their work, their careers, softwares, life, marriage and a lot of other things. But these days, we have a lot of distractions that makes it difficult to focus on issues like education, learning and training. If that’s part of your resolution this year, I encourage you to discipline yourself so that you can become a well educated and knowledgeable individual.
5. Spend more time with family and loved ones: Most people who make this resolution are usually busy bees. They work 9-5 and hardly have time to be with their family and loved ones. If you have made this resolution this year and you are still at that same demanding and tasking job: (shakes head) bros, you are on a long thing.
