I totally remember these girls back then when they were destiny child and Michelle really came back to the music scene with a bang. As destiny child they were awesome and their collaboration in this song is super.

               This song is getting a lot of airplay in Nigeria right now because it is Nigerian inspired. Even the producer who made the beat is a Nigerian and the beat has our flavour. The chorus was a popular worship song back when i was growing up and it has a lot of meaning. I just love this song. 5 IMPORTANT REASONS NOT TO COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS

  This is especially for all those copy-cats out there who keep on trying to form what they are not. Omo you don't need to try to be another person cause in spite of your best efforts, you will just come off as fake. When you give in to comparison, a lot of shit happens (depression, inferiority complex and the likes). So here are the five reasons:-

1. Everyone is different:  One of the most important reasons not to compare yourself with others is that everyone is different! People have different personalities, mannerisms, innate talents, physique and a lot of other things. You'll never be exactly like someone else, so why compare yourself to someone who is different from you?

2. You Can't change yourself: Well there are some things you can change; like if you like someone else's hair, you can go and dye yours, if you envy someone else's body, you can get plastic surgery. But envy doesn't stop at the surface. If you are jealous of someone's personality because they are more extroverted than you, or jealous of someone's intelligence because they are smarter and more successful than you, it's all really pointless. You can't change those things, because they are what make you you!.

3. You will never be content: Contentment is different from happiness, because while happiness is circumstantial, contentment is consistent and comes from the inside. Once you stop comparing yourself to others, you can focus on how awesome you and your life are, then find true contentment!

4. It's a waste of time and energy: Honestly, who has time to sit around getting jealous of someone else? It takes time and energy to compare yourself to others, and you have so many better, healthier, and more important things to do with your life!

5.  There's always someone: yeso! there is always someone better and always someone worse than you. No matter how pretty you are, there is always going to be someone prettier. No matter how smart you are, there will always be someone smarter. At the same time though, you are that “someone” to someone else. It’s pointless to rank and compare everyone, because there will always be “someone”!

                 So go ahead and live your own life and do away with that envy, comparison and fakeness. Be yourself; your very best self.

I was waiting to pick up a friend at the airport. That day I had one of those experiences that change people‘s lives. It happened just two feet away from me. I noticed a man, carrying two bags, coming toward me. He stopped next to me to greet his family. 

First of all he laid down his bag and came closer to his younger son (about six years old), they gave each other a warm, loving hug. Then the father looked in his son‘s eyes with words: „I missed you so much, it‘s so good to see you, son!“. The boy smiled and said: „Me too, dad“.

Then the man talked to his older son (nine or ten years old). „Oh, you are quite the young man, I love you very much!“ and cupped his face. Then they had the most tender hug too.

Afterwards the father said „Hi, baby girl“ to his baby daughter. She was squirling excitedly in her mother‘s arm and watching her returning father all the time. The man gently took his little daughter, quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest. The little girl laid her head on his shoulder in pure contentment.

After several moments, then man looked at his wife and said „I‘ve saved the best for last“ and shared with her the most passionate kiss. They stared at each other, beaming big smiles. They reminded me of newlyweds. 

Suddenly, I heard myself asking „Wow, how old have you been married?“. „Been together fourteen years, and married twelve of those“ . „Well then, have long have you been away?“. He replied with joaway?“. He replied with joyous smile on his face: „Two whole days!“.

I was stunned, as I imagined that he had been gone for several weeks at last. I could only say: „I hope that my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years“. The man looked straight into my eyes and told me something that changed my life:

 Interstellar is a science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Mackenzie Foy, John Lithgow and Michael Caine, the film features a crew of astronauts who travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity. Brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan wrote the film, merging a script Jonathan developed in 2007 with Christopher's ideas. Christopher Nolan produced the film with his wife, Emma Thomas, and Lynda Obst. Theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, whose work inspired the film, acted as scientific consultant and executive producer.

Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, and Legendary Pictures co-financed the film, while Syncopy and Lynda Obst Productions served as production companies. Nolan hired cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema and shot the film on anamorphic 35 mm and IMAX 70 mm photography. Filming commenced in late 2013 in Alberta, Canada; Iceland; and Los Angeles. 10 TYPES OF FRESHERS YOU MEET ON CAMPUS- REALLY FUNNY

I can still remember vividly my fresher's days when I had to go about the campus with my files and asking people for information. i can say it was embarrassing but was also fun and it is always easy to know a fresher in the campus. Here are some of the types of freshers you meet in the campus.

1. The JJCs:  every little thing amazes them(the buildings, crowd, cars. Etc) You begin to wonder if it is their first time of going out.

2. The Ajebohs:  they flaunt their wealth in the campus and remind you who their father is at every slightest opportunity. They display their phones; take people out for a treat regularly to impress. Majority of the people in this category got the money via extortion from their parents and everything normally cease after their first year in school.

3. The gurus:  first to ask and answer questions in the class, suggests taking their mates tutorials and depends in the past glory from their secondary school. If you fall in this category, just pray you don’t meet some silent and low key gurus in your class that will outshine you if you don’t work hard.

4. The Womanizers:  the only thing they think of is how to get the opposite sex. The guys desperately want to date every girl on campus maybe because of the freedom and access they enjoy.

5. The Socialites: similar to the womanizers. They want to be everywhere, associate with everybody on campus. You find them in all parties, fellowships, community days and they even forget their main motive of being in the campus.
6. The politicians few weeks after reg and they start vying for post(s). They contest for the class/course rep as if they are the Buhari of the campus.

7. The Historians: some will always tell you about their family, previous school. The most annoying ones are those that always refer to their age and the number of times they have written jamb. Like who cares!!! grin

8. The Oversabis: they claim to know everything going on in the school already as if they have spent 7 years. They try to put people through the reg, knows the names of all the lecturers but you later discover they themselves are naïve.

9. The Preachers: after resumption theirs is to win as many souls as possible.

10. I was in this category. Cool, social, brilliant, handsome and well packaged guy.

TALE OF TWO PEBBLES-AN INSPIRATIONAL STORY

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer’s beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the farmer’s debt if he could marry his daughter.

Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father’s debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father’s debt would still be forgiven. If she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer’s field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?

Take a moment to ponder this. What would you recommend that the girl do?

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

“Oh, how clumsy of me!” she said. “But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.”

The moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty. The girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

PALAWAN-WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND.

PALAWAN-THIS ISLAND IS PERFECTION

  I came across an article online of the world's most beautiful island. It was an article published by huffingtonpost and i was utterly amazed at the unbelievable pictures taken of the island. I had to go and mark it down as a future travel destination. Here are extracts from the articles as well as pictures of the island.

    

       It's hard to believe the Philippines are an under-appreciated tropical travel destination, especially with their extraordinary hiking, diving, beaches and of course -- islands that are THIS beautiful.

And while we'd like to visit every single island in the Philippines, there's one island in particular we're zeroing in on -- Palawan, a hidden piece of paradise that was recently named "The Top Island in the World" by Conde Nast Traveler's Reader Choice Awards.

There, beautiful blue water mixes with emerald green, jungle-filled mountains that appear to rise up from the ocean, and small fishing villages dot the island. Together with its neighboring islands, it creates the Palawan province, aka paradise.

HOSPITAL WINDOW

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it. In his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.
It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window
The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.
She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

People need to be encouraged; they need to be inspired. They need people to push them, to urge them to live to their full potentials. They need someone to shine a light in the midst of darkness and give them hope; to show them that there is a way. Be that person that makes people feel better about themselves; someone that always makes people optimistic about life. Strive to always inspire people because if everyone is not living up to their true potentials, we would not be able to enjoy the world in its fullness; after all, everyone has a role to play in life.

NIGHTCRAWLER: A CRIME THRILLER

 Nightcrawler is a 2014 American crime thriller film written and directed by Dan Gilroy and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Riz Ahmed, and Bill Paxton. Gyllenhall plays a driven young man who begins shooting footage of accidents and crimes in Los Angeles to sell to news channels.

The film was released theatrically by Open Road Films on October 31, 2014. You can watch the trailer here. 

The movie gets a rating of 8/10. It is a thrilling movie to watch.
